Dear Singing School Family and Friends,
The Texas Normal Singing School is full of thankfulness toward “the Father of lights” from whom comes down “every good gift and every perfect gift” (James 1:17). We count you—our students and friends—and the churches you represent among the greatest treasures we receive from God. Our work is a sacred trust: investing in our students so that you can return home with full hearts to bless the congregations that sent you.
This time of year, gratitude naturally leads into generosity. Thanksgiving invites us to reflect on how richly God has blessed us; December overflows with opportunities to pass those blessings on to others. This coming Tuesday has been called by some “Giving Tuesday,” highlighting generosity and sharing after “Black Friday.”
We believe the time has come for more workers in this harvest field. If you were with us at the 2025 Singing School or follow our Facebook page, you’ve probably heard about our newest ministry: sending Levi & Sara Sisemore as missionaries to help the Singing School maintain and expand its ministry in a cappella, congregational singing.
The Sisemores are stepping out in faith, leaving their current work—and financial support—to give themselves full-time to this ministry. Their work is jointly overseen by their home congregation in Fredericksburg, Texas, and the TNSS Board of Directors. They are fully-dependant upon thanksgiving manifesting itself as generosity and sharing.

How You Can Help
Please pray for this work! Specifically, pray for faith in this new adventure; a successful move to Lubbock; sufficient financial partners to support this work; and opportunities to serve others.
1. Add Doxology Project to your monthly household budget.
Would you consider becoming a monthly partner? No gift is insignificant. Remember the boy’s small lunch that Jesus used to feed the 5,000 and the widow’s two small coins. In Jesus’ eyes, gifts given in faith are never “small.” When our regular gifts are pooled together, they become a powerful tool in the Lord’s hands. Some have opted to give a set amount for each month, but in one lump sum for the year. If you choose this option, please just communicate your plans to us when you make your gift. If every family receiving this email would share in this work with just $50/month, the needs would be met. Please, consider beginning your monthly support in December 2025 or by January 2026.
2. Introduce Doxology to your congregation’s missions leaders.
Would you take a packet of information (print or digital) to your elders, missions committee, or church leadership? We’re asking churches to pray about:
A minimum of $100 per month, or
For congregations over 100 in attendance, one dollar per attendee per month.
Your personal endorsement as a Singing School student or alum means more than you know.
Why This Matters Now
TNSS has served students and the church for 80 years. We now support multiple singing and song-leader training programs and teach a multi-year curriculum. Each year, we serve hundreds of students and dozens of congregations. To continue this level and pace of ministry, we are praying and planning for the the full-time work of the Doxology Project.
Through the Doxology Project, Levi already has more invitations for workshops, trainings, special events, and recruiting (lectureships, workshops, etc.) than he can accept while in his current role as a full-time minister at Fredericksburg. The Sisemores are planning to relocate to Lubbock, Texas (with its more sustainable cost of living) in March 2026 to “hit the ground running” for next summer, working full-time with the Texas Normal Singing School and Tennessee Singing School. Recurring summer activities also include the Western Oklahoma School of Music, Camp Apollos (preacher training camp), and White River Youth Camp.
We’re also exploring additional regional workshops around the country. Recently, Levi was asked to join the Timeless Psalter Project, and he will be presenting those resources to congregations and events.
Friends, you know firsthand how good Singing School has been for your faith, hope, and love. You’ve seen how it shapes your service, followership, and leadership in your congregation. You’ve watched it bring old and young together, giving them a shared space and language to lift up robust congregational and personal praise.
You know what God has given you through the Singing School and the volunteerism of this ministry. Now we’re encouraging you to help freely give (Matthew 10:8), so that others may receive the same blessing.
Thank you for walking in faith with us. Please contact Levi with questions at (806) 777-8417 / hymnalcollector@gmail.com.
In Christ, where no one stands alone,
The Texas Normal Singing School & The Doxology Project
