7:00 PM          Worship in the Chapel – open to anyone

This open-invitation old-fashioned singing kicks off our 2019 Worship Leader Conference. Bring a friend, an open heart, a bottle of water, and be prepared to sing!

8:00 PM          Hungry for You: The Presence of God – open to anyone

Gary will lead our minds and hearts through three texts – Exodus 19, 1 Chronicles 13-15, and Hebrews 12 – about standing in the very presence of an awesome, holy God.

Saturday

9:00 AM         Thirsty for You: Guarding the Worshipper’s Heart – conference registrants only

Gary will present Jesus at Jacob’s Well, examining John 4:23, and provide practical suggestions on how to grow as a true worshiper.

10:00 AM       Thinking Outside of the Box – conference registrants only

Gary will present this session as an exercise in thinking “outside of the box” about what constitutes worship with the hope that participants may come up with new ideas to incorporate into corporate worship as well as rethink what worship actually is.

11:00 AM       Investing in the Future: Mentoring – conference registrants only

Good leaders help people today; great leaders prepare leaders for tomorrow. In this session, Gary will talk us through coaching others as worshippers.

Noon               BBQ Brisket Lunch with All the Trimmings (541 N 8th Street)

Abilene, Texas is a city with a reputation for BBQ and in Texas, BBQ means beef brisket (for the rest of y’all, we’ll also serve smoked chicken). This buffet lunch is catered by a local pitmaster and friend of the Singing School. We guarantee it’s the best meal you’ll have all week.

3:00 PM          Worship Technology 1: Demystifying Audio – conference registrants only

What else does a worship leader do besides lead singing? The possibilities open wide when we get into a discussion of technology. Gary will present – and demystify – the sound board and what it does.

4:00 PM          Worship Technology 2: Software is Your Friend – conference registrants only

Gary will present an overview of software packages that directly impact your work in worship ministry (e.g. ProPresenter, EasyWorship, Proclaim, Planning Center Online, etc.).

5:00 PM          Open Forum – open to conference registrants only

Throughout the Worship Leader Conference, we’ll be collecting questions to ask of our panel members during an open forum (panel includes Gary Moyers and a mix of our faculty members). Your questions, their wisdom.

6:00 PM          Dismissed to Supper at Rosa’s Café (1026 N Judge Ely Blvd)

This is an on-your-own chance to visit with your fellow Singing School students, the faculty, and folks who are in just for the Worship Leader Conference. Rosa’s serves Tex-Mex with fresh, hot flour tortillas.

Sunday

10:00 AM       Edification, Worship, and Fellowship– open to anyone

This is a very special time of building each other up as we pour out our hearts before the Father. All friends of the Singing School are welcome to hear a positive Bible message, share at the Lord’s Table, and – of course – sing, sing, sing!
